It’s true. Canada messed up French, America jacked up English, and Mexico manipulated Spanish. :/
Also, why do we call Germany what we do? People in Germany say ‘Deutschland’. Even Japan has it closer than we do. They say ‘Doitsu’.
Guh, It’s not even Japan! They say ‘Nihon’. Where did we get ‘Japan’ from?
